Supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the North-Central states have flooded Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, for a mega rally in support of President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Buses conveying supporters and members started arriving in the state on Friday ahead of today’s event.
Some of the buses were branded with images of Tinubu, Shettima, and governors of states within the region.
Chartered interstate buses also conveyed contingents to the state capital.
Our correspondent noticed heavy deployment of security personnel across major streets and around Lafia Square, the venue of the event.
LEADERSHIP reports that major entry points to the venue have also been blocked.
The Usman Danfodio Airport, through which VIPs are expected to arrive in the state, is also a beehive of activity.
The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network had slated a mega political rally in Nasarawa State for today to demonstrate the region’s collective support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 general elections.
The rally, which will be hosted by Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, will be headlined by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
