A coalition group loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under auspices of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors(RHA), has lauded the reforms initiative of the President Bola Tinubu -led central government, noting that although the reforms come with attendant pains, the group leaders assured of light at the end of the tunnel.
Urging Nigerians to be patient for the new era of prosperity to emerge from the reforms, the group explained that only the reelection of President Tinubu, would guarantee the gains for Nigerians, urging the electorates in Akwa Ibom State to ensure the President wins the 2027 election in all the units, wards across the 31 local government areas.
Besides, the coalition pledged to reelect the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Umo Eno and other candidates of the APC at the polls.
State coordinator of the RHA, Obong Prince Ikim, who declared this during a breakfast meeting with local government and ward coordinators as well as other arms of the group, urged the electorates to jettison political sentiments and make the right choice for Nigeria to move forward.
Ikim, who extolled the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration, added that Nigeria’s economy would have collapsed irretrievably if Naira was not stabilized and fuel subsidy removed.
He said, “This meeting is long overdue and it is to bring us together because we are of one party. This meeting is to bring us together because we have one message which is the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“What is the message? It is the message of the ARISE Agenda. Let us be sincere, as far as this country is concerned, this is the first time we have a President with the political will to stand firm and pull out fuel subsidy; political will to carry out reforms to better this country.
“As far as this country is concerned if we did not have a President like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu this country would have collapsed. Let us be sincere without that political will we wouldn’t have success.
“As I speak with you today, there is no gainsaying that local governments and state governments have more money to embark on people-oriented projects. l give credit to President Bola Tinubu for all the projects done in Akwa Ibom state.
“If you watch the 2023 campaign clips of President Bola Tinubu, you will confirm that everything he said he would do he has done them. Likewise with our Governor Pastor Umo Eno.
“So let us take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots; let us take the message of the ARISE Agenda to the grassroots. We have to reward them with votes, not just votes but massive votes.
“I also thank Governor Umo Eno because that is a man who knows our support and capacity. That is a man who nominated all of us especially me as the state coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.”
Also speaking, a former speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Aniekan Uko, promised that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a group was out to galvanize votes for Tinubu, Akpabio and Eno, and other APC candidates during the elections.
Speaking for Eket Senatorial district, a former House of Assembly member for Eastern Obolo/Ikot Abasi State Constituency, Elder Charles Mbong, called for extensive sensitization to enable voters armed themselves with PVCs.
“We cannot win the upcoming election without encouraging our supporters to get their PVCs. Returning Tinubu, Akpabio, Umo Eno and other APC candidates, is a task that must be done,” he stressed.
