EBOLA: Kebbi To SCREEN PASSENGERS AT PARKS, BORDERS

The Kebbi State government has intensified measures to prevent the spread of Ebola to the state.

The measures were announced in a statement issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Zaki Abubakar

He said as part of the measures, the government had introduced screening for people, particularly passengers, at border areas, motor parks, and other entry points into the state to protect the residents from the disease.

He said the measures were intended to identify suspected cases among travellers and ensure that affected persons were promptly placed in isolation facilities for appropriate medical care.

Zaki, therefore, urged residents travelling to affected areas to take precautions and remain vigilant for symptoms of the disease.

He also advised the residents to cooperate with health personnel as they carried out their duties, particularly in identifying symptoms and taking appropriate action.
